Hi, I’m Rebecca Morris. I’m a WordPress developer and visual designer. I enjoy working remotely from my home office in Wichita, Kansas. My goal is to help female entrepreneurs, specifically career shifters over forty, who need a strategic web presence and brand identity system.
I help female encore entrepreneurs build impressive websites using WordPress. I AM a female encore entrepreneur over forty who is self-taught in graphic design, coding, and WordPress. I am always leveling up my skill set. I’ve taken several classes through Skillcrush as well as other online learning platforms. Even after hours of frustrating troubleshooting, I want to do the best work and get the job done.
I spent the last year working in an agency setting. Now that I am back in my natural habitat, I am more driven than ever to be a reliable resource for fierce female entrepreneurs. Over the past few months, I have been thinking about formulating my own ecourse using the knowledge that I have of WordPress, web development, and brand identity systems. Additionally, I have wanted to add more value to my website. Do you know what was recommended the most in order to achieve this? Writing a blog.
When it comes to writing a blog, I have procrastinated. I’ve done just about everything else except blogging. Sure, I’ve started a blog several times, but I’ve never succeeded in being consistent. Part of the delay has also been due to comparison. There is a lot of competition in my field. But, I final recognize that what sets me apart from my competition is my focal point. My target demographic is female encore entrepreneurs over forty. This is a seriously ignored demographic. I want to share my knowledge and help empower women to manage their own websites. I want to create a valuable resource for them.
A little herstory: I started dabbling in WordPress in 2008, but I began teaching myself HTML and CSS in 2003. Between raising three children, completing my bachelors degree, and just life in general, I kept at it. I have used WordPress to build portfolios for artists, create online shops, and help small business owners establish their social media presence.
From graphics to page layouts, I love helping female entrepreneurs cement their brand with a strong online identity. My mission now is to create a valuable virtual resource to help guide encore entrepreneurs toward becoming digital media savages!
